Bed ways are precision ground and aligned on one of our two Way
Grinders. The process begins with a new gib machined to the original factory taper. This gib is then used to master our set-up so that the parallelism of the slides can be re-aligned. After grinding, the beds are hand scraped and flaked to a 0.0002 in.
tolerance. This process allows the Regulating Wheel to be precisely aligned to the workrest resulting in the ability to hold extremely tight tolerances on any part.

 |
Restoring
alignment and positioning is only possible
with the precision grinding of beds on one of our two way grinders. As shown, the top and
bottom beds are aligned on the way grinder. This setup allows all sliding and working surfaces to be ground flat and
parallel. Also, all dovetail angles
are ground at precisely the same angle.
